A new center for health and wellbeing is being constructed in the heart of Tucson.
El Rio, one of the largest healthcare providers in the greater Tucson area, currently boasts twelve locations, each offering primary medical, dental and behavioral health services for both those with and without insurance in Pima County. With a current clientele of over 95,000 people, El Rio is looking to expand, and recently broke ground on the newest addition to the company.
El Rio’s new Cherrybell Community Health Center is now under construction, at the intersection of 22nd Street and Kino Parkway. The valuable community resource is expected to open by early 2018, offering thousands of local neighbors a more convenient option for healthcare.
The new 40,000-square-foot-center will accommodate 10,000 new patients in its first year, with same day appointments, and extended and weekend hours.
El Rio’s teaching health center and two of it’s current locations will be incorporated into the new facility, due in part to the Broadway Improvement Project. With one of their current health centers located along Broadway Road, the company chose to relocate their services.
The new facility will offer dental care, behavioral health services, general medical care, a centralized pharmacy, radiology department and educational services, serving as a necessary resource for the community.
