Pavin Smith has had a very good year.
After being drafted to the Diamondbacks last year as the seventh overall pick, Smith has fully embraced his minor league career.
He even made headlines last year after using his baseball earnings to pay off his parent’s home. Smith was considered one of the best college hitters in his class, and he’s continuing to live up to the hype as he works toward his dreams.
Last year, he hit .318/.401/.415 in 195 at-bats in the Northwest League, and his success there allowed him to skip Low-A entirely. Now, he recently opened up the 2018 season in the California League.
Smith is on a mission to prove he can be an everyday first baseman or left fielder and power hitter for the Diamondbacks organization.
