Flagstaff’s Museum of Northern Arizona is showcasing the stunning work of impressionist landscape artist Curt Walters. Often referred to as the “Greatest Living Grand Canyon Artist,” Walters’ paintings are recognized worldwide for their realistic, impeccable interpretation of the Grand Canyon.
Walters, born and raised in New Mexico, developed his eye for dramatic landscapes throughout his years at New Mexico State University, and later, working and studying alongside painter Wilson Hurley. Since the start of his career, Walters has finished well over 30 paintings, which will be displayed in this exhibition, giving viewers the chance to see how his style has progressed over the last 35 years. The show includes never-before-seen works that are on loan from collectors around the country.
The exhibition will be open through November 1st. Monday-Saturday, it will be open 10am-5pm, and on Sundays from 12 pm-5pm.
