Three of Reid Park Zoo’s newest inhabitants will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 22.
The “Connecting Closer-Leaping Lemurs” event will take place from 5:00 pm -6:30 pm and offer a fascinating look at these creatures and their new life at the zoo! This is the perfect chance for children to see one of their favorite animals from the Madagascar movies up close and personal!
Elm, Oak and Linden are the names of the new male lemurs, and at the event, zoo supervisor Leslie Waters will introduce them and host a reception by their habitat. Light snacks will be available, as well as a cash bar.
Stacey Tecot from the University of Arizona School of Anthropology will provide a presentation about lemurs in Madagascar and ongoing efforts to help this endangered species. This will take place in the Conservation Learning Center.
Come on down to the zoo for this fun event! Tickets are $20 each, and $15 for zoo members.
