Please describe your business.
Arizona Flower Market is the only wholesale to the public floral DIY warehouse in Arizona. Located downtown in the heart of the Phoenix Flower District, Arizona Flower Market boasts an enormous 4,000 sq. ft. cooler filled with thousands of fresh cut blooms from all over the world. The Market also carries hundreds of vases, ribbon, bling, design tools, floral foam and décor to complete your DIY project. Our expert team can help guide you through the process of large scale projects such as weddings or Quinceaneras, from ordering your flowers, to the finished design. Come down and Shop Like a Florist!
What was your inspiration in starting your business?
We felt that working around pretty, fragrant smelling flowers that make people happy was a wonderful way to make a living. We saw there was an unfilled need in the Phoenix area for a flower market similar to the ones found in other large cities, such as LA and San Francisco. With two other floral businesses already thriving, this seemed like the natural progression of our floral footprint. Currently, we own Arizona Florist, a family owned & operated full service, all occasion floral retail shop and delivery service. In 2011 we expanded by opening the award-winning LUX Wedding & Event Florist. Adding Arizona Flower Market in 2014 completed our floral product offering. The business has been a labor of love and we employ 6 family member, plus many others we consider our extended family.
What has been your hardest business challenge?
Letting people know we were here! Our location in the downtown warehouse district is a bit off the beaten path as they say. And with a modest marketing budget we had to find creative ways of getting the word out and making people aware of our presence. We’ve steadily managed to increase awareness and create loyal, repeat customers by selling great product, offering expert and friendly customer service and giving back to our community. We host Open House Events and Donation Drives on a regular basis and give away free flowers in exchange for donations throughout the year. We have a very active Facebook page with almost 32,000 engaged fans and we really do love our customers!
Do you have a signature product or service? If so please tell us about it. Our consistently biggest selling item in the Flower Market is our 25 stem bunch of gorgeous 50 centimeter roses for $24.94 (there are some price variations during peak holidays). This item put us on the map and continues to be a huge customer draw.
Is there anything else you would like potential customers to know about your business? We are open 7 days a week to serve our customers. We can take orders over the phone or in person and we guarantee customer satisfaction!
