(Tempe, Ariz.) The holidays are right around the corner and what better way for Arizona families to celebrate than with a southwestern-style musical about the Three Little Javelinas? This holiday season, Josefina is preparing to dance the Sugar Plum Hairy, while Juan works on baking the perfect cookie for Santa, and José just hopes it might snow in the desert. But everyone’s plans are turned upside down when Cousin Angelina and a tricky coyote show up!
This brand new musical based on the book “A Very Hairy Christmas” by local author Susan Lowell is sure to delight Arizona families. Performances of A Very Hairy Javelina Holiday will be held at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, November 19 through December 24, 2016, Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $12 and are on sale now at www.childsplayaz.org or at the Tempe Center for the Arts Box Office (480) 350-2822 (ext. 2). The play is recommended for ages 5 and up.
“A Very Hairy Javelina Holiday is an all-new musical that celebrates the holidays, family and friends,” said Director Dwayne Hartford. “Everyone learns that there’s no such thing as a perfect holiday. And no matter how you celebrate, or whatever problems might occur, the holidays are so very special because you share them with your family and friends.”
The 1 p.m. performance on Saturday, November 19 is a special $12 Storybook Preview performance, sponsored by The Steele Foundation. Each family that attends this General Admission preview performance will receive a free book.
