A Chandler man has once again delighted his neighbors with his exquisite nativity scene display.
For twenty five years now, Rev. Jorge Rodriguez Eagar has spread the Christmas spirit and reminded his fellow community of the true meaning of Christmas.
Each year, he organizes every detail of his Posada, known as “lodging” in Spanish, creating a Christmastime tradition that is shared across many Mexican households throughout the Phoenix metro area. It symbolizes Mary and Joseph’s long journey for shelter before the birth of Jesus.
Eagar’s Nativity scene, known as nacimiento, boasts over 1,600 pieces, making it a huge display of figurines and models showcasing the story of Jesus’s birth. His Nacimiento features a variety of characters, and takes up a lot of space in his garage, with three levels on the display.
Eagar’s display has become a true tradition for his neighbors and the community. If you are interested in viewing the Nacimiento before February 2, you may email Eagar at [email protected] to set up a time for a viewing.
