
NYPD officials were dealing with a runaway criminal on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers arrested an 18-year-old around 12:50 p.m. for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Not long after he was placed in handcuffs, the suspect escaped, running away from the scene near New York Avenue and Empire Blvd in Crown Heights.
After several hours on the loose, the suspect was recaptured and taken back into custody at approximately 6 p.m.
