Tempe, Ariz., Sept. 27, 2016 – The Church of the Epiphany – Tempe (www.epiphany-tempe.org) is proud to announce that in conjunction with the annual Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and World Animal Day, the annual “Blessing of the Animals” will be held this coming Saturday (Oct. 1) at 10:00am within the memorial garden on the church’s Tempe campus.
Parishioners and others are welcome to bring their dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, or other beloved pets to be blessed. The Church of the Epiphany – Tempe’s Outreach Committee will also be accepting pet food, blankets, toys, and cash donations for local animal RESCUE organizations during the event.
Last weekend, as a kick off to The Church of the Epiphany – Tempe’s month long Outreach for animal welfare, the church successfully hosted AZ R.E.S.C.U.E. (www.azrescue.org), which was on the church’s campus with adoptable dogs that have been rescued from the euthanasia lists of our extremely overburdened Animal Care & Control Services. AZ RESCUE is a registered-non-profit and the majority of its animals reside in volunteer foster homes, and the remaining rescues are placed in leased boarding facilities until they can be adopted.
The Church of the Epiphany – Tempe is located at 2222 South Price Road, on the corner of E. Concorda Dr. and southbound Price Road adjacent to the southbound 101 Freeway.
