Be Sure to Visit Eclectic Uptown Sedona

Uptown Sedona, at the intersection of Arizona 89A and 179, is packed with galleries, gift shops, cafes and restaurants. Compact and easily walked, Uptown serves as the central hub of Sedona. An eclectic assortment of retail businesses are tucked into every nook and cranny and it’s hard to proceed more than a few steps before some eye-catching jewelry or sculpture, or just-right T-shirt pulls you in off the sidewalk.

Uptown Sedona is the original Town of Sedona and is the gateway to Oak Creek Canyon, famous for its stunning scenery.  Meandering Oak Creek is the destination for both day trips and camping, hiking and fishing

Back to Uptown Sedona just strolling around this charming tourist hotspot for a half hour or so, you will be able to take in some pretty magnificent scenery without much effort at all. The second most-photographed rock formation in Sedona, next to Cathedral Rock, is Snoopy laying on his back with Lucy overlooking.  Some of the most breathtaking views can be seen from Uptown. Oak Creek Canyon’s walls and Schnebly Hill are worth the trip by themselves.

Canyon Portal and Sinagua Plaza shopping centers offer more than 30 boutique-style stores. If you don’t visit Joe Wilcox’s store you haven’t seen Uptown.

There is a place in eat for every taste and budget. Whether you want Creekside dining where you can almost put your toes in the water and just want a slice of Pizza you will find it here. From a cowboy steak house to authentic Mexican food you won’t go hungry while visiting.

Your headquarters for tours is Uptown. Jeep tours are a cottage industry and several companies go bouncing into the outback away from the crowds, into the secret places.
