Baseball Broadcast Causes Uproar For Yankees

The New York Yankees mean business.

ESPN had recently announced the Yankees July 8 game at the Toronto Blue Jays would be moved into the prime time slot. Now, the sports media giant has reversed the decision, allowing the AL East rivals to stay with their afternoon start time.

The Yankees threatened to boycott reporters from ESPN if the network forced them to play three games in two cities in just 24 hours. The Yankees will head to Baltimore the next day, July 9, for a doubleheader.

The team, currently one game back from first place in the division, reached out to the Commissioner’s Office and the Players Association for help in settling the dispute.

Multiple news outlets are reporting the game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers will now be featured as the national Sunday Night Baseball broadcast.
