With its ongoing commitment to helping local families, Barro’s Pizza is kicking off the summer season by supporting a good cause.
The locally-owned pizza operation, in partnership with Coca-Cola, is donating money to help Arizona families and children affected by pediatric cancer.
In June, Barro’s will donate proceeds from all lunch specials to the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children, a local nonprofit with a mission to help Arizona families with the high costs and challenging logistics while caring for their children during cancer treatment.
“It is so important for us to help these local families—the same families who have helped grow our business through the years—as they go through these hard times,” said Bruce Barro, owner of Barro’s Pizza. “When guests visit our locations in June, they will directly be helping their local community just by purchasing a lunch special.”
Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children was founded by Chrisie Funari after she lost her young daughter, Ava, to cancer.
Funari traveled the country seeking the best treatments and care for her daughter, and strives to offer families similar opportunities by assisting with travel expenses and giving them peace of mind.
“Barro’s Pizza is such a staple in the Phoenix community, and we’re so happy to have their support,” said Funari, who is also the organization’s president. “The money donated will be able to help continue our mission to help facilitate travel and comfort to children with cancer and their families, regardless of their financial situation.”
Since its opening, Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children has helped hundreds of families and wants to continue to grow that number.
Lunch is a popular time for guests to get their Barro’s Pizza fix, and the pizza shops have an array of lunch special options to choose from. Information about Barro’s Pizza lunch specials can be found here. Lunch hours vary by location and can be found here.
