Thai food, a delicacy like no other. With the array of spices and flavors that are brought about when indulging in the deliciousness of Thai cuisine, look no further than Bai Thong. A cute and quaint restaurant located east on Speedway Boulevard, this spot has everything you would ever want ranging from vegetarian options to an array of entrée options (44 to be exact).
I visited this place on a Saturday night, and despite the exterior of the building being a little deceiving, the interior was the epitome of an authentic Thai restaurant. With many wall decorations and ornaments throughout the building, you felt the purity of the restaurant. Being a party of 5, we sat at a round table, making it very easy to converse with one another, and started our meal with some fresh spring rolls and crab puffs. Both of the appetizers were delicious and the dipping sauces were very flavorful. After our appetizers we asked our waitress for so
me entrée recommendations to share for the table and she recommended many appealing and tasty options to choose from. Some of those that come highly recommend are the Chicken Thai Curry, the Tom Yum Koong soup, Pad Thai, and the coconut shrimp. Not only were the flavors amazing, but also, all of the food had its own unique taste that made you wanting more. It is amazing that Thai food can consist of so many diverse herbs and spices and yet taste so delicious, which is exactly what Bai Thong does.
The overall dining experience was quite a delight and I intend to revisit this place in the near future. With the ambiance, family style dishes, and different aromas that fill the restaurant, there is something on the menu that fits all people’s likings. It is a place that definitely should be on the radar, even if its just for their daily lunch specials.
