Authorities Continue to Seek Answers in Unsolved Murder Cases

There are so many victims of violent crimes. Not only do the victims themselves suffer and oftentimes have their lives cut short, but their families have to live with the reality of losing their loved ones every day for the rest of their lives.

Sadly, there are still many unsolved murder cases in southern Arizona, as authorities continue to trace leads and grieving families advocate for answers.

One such example is that of Tomas Tovar, who died four years ago after being shot in a parking lot at the intersection of Campbell and Irvington. His poor family has been disappointed and disheartened by the lack of evidence and information in the years following his murder.

There are more than 100 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 2010, and loved ones are pushing for answers, and especially for those in the community who may have any information to speak up.

Another case is that of Zach Corbut, who died in 2015 after being shot multiple times in a home invasion off Grant Road in Midtown. According to Tucson Police, his roommate was pistol whipped and the suspects fled the scene. His mother Ann has been relentless in her pursuit of her son’s killer, handing out thousands of fliers and posting billboards, seeking information.

For both of these cases, there are currently active rewards for information that leads to an arrest. If you have any details about these murders, or other crimes that have taken place in Tucson, please call 88-CRIME. All reports can be anonymous.
