Join the Flagstaff Public Library in welcoming local author Allison Gruber for a special event next week.
On Tuesday, March 21, from 7-8 pm, Gruber will share selections from her books as part of the Author Series events. She will read from the autobiographical essays in “You’re Not Edith,” and from her forthcoming collection, “Transference,” as she discusses crafting her written work, navigating the hazy line between memory and “fact” and the role of “identity politics” in literature.
Gruber is an essayist and educator, and she received praise for her first book, “You’re Not Edith,” from Booklist, NewPages, and Publishers Weekly. It was also a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award, and her other essays have appeared in The Huffington Post, Pithead Chapel, The Hairpin, Foliate Oak, The Literary Review, Gravel Magazine and more.
Due to subject matter, this event may not be suitable for people under the age of 14.For more information about this free event, call 213-2331 or visit flagstaffpubliclibrary.org.
