ASU’s Salute to Service Week Celebrates Military Service

Thank you to ASU President Michael Crow for sharing the following information.

Since 2011, Arizona State University’s annual “Salute to Service” week has enthusiastically honored and celebrated our nation’s veterans, active-duty military, National Guard, and their families. Our ASU community of students, faculty, staff, friends and supporters includes many men and women who have demonstrated their committed service to the United States and dedicated hard work and sacrifice to the protection of our democracy. To thank them for their service, and to share our pride by association, we organize a week’s worth of special activities designed to expand our understanding and convey our appreciation. This year’s tribute will take place November 7-11, 2016, with the theme “Bound by service, driven by innovation.” I invite you to join me in supporting this year’s Salute to Service with your presence, peers and Sun Devil spirit.

As a university committed to national service, ASU recognizes the critical contributions veterans and active-duty military make to the success of our country, and takes seriously its responsibility to support their educational success and beyond. ASU is ranked as a 2017 “Best for Vets” college by the Military Times; a top school in the 2017 Military Advanced Education & Transition Guide to Colleges & Universities; and a “Military Friendly School” by G.I. Jobs for the seventh consecutive year.

We are at our best as a university when we come together to advance knowledge, pursue excellence and imagine world-changing solutions. Our current and former service members are important contributors to these efforts and to our lives. I look forward to celebrating with you.
