An Arizona State University faculty member has been named editor for the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, a huge privilege for the University’s faculty.
Tim Richards currently holds the Marvin and June Morrison Chair in Agribusiness in the Morrison School of Agribusiness at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business.
This is a major accomplishment for Richards and the Morrison School, as the AJAE is the flagship journal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and is considered the top journal in the agricultural and applied economics field.
Richards, a Canadian native, earned his undergraduate degree in business at the University of British Columbia and doctorate at Stanford University. He has been at ASU since 1994. His primary research interest is in the area of applied econometrics with respect to food markets and food policy issues.
Richards is recognized for his research that encompasses both experimental and non-experimental methods of data analysis, publishing research in outlets such as the Journal of Retailing, Management Science, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and many others. In addition to his notable work and influence at ASU, he has won 11 outstanding journal article awards and serves on the editorial board of the European Review of Agricultural Economics and the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
