One of the world’s most recognized and talented choirs will visit Flagstaff for a free concert.
The Australian Girls Choir is visiting America for an amazing trip full of stunning singing and inspiration. Their travels will bring them to Flagstaff on Thursday, September 28, where they will delight locals with a free concert in Heritage Square at 5 p.m. The Flagstaff Youth Chorale will join them.
This is not all the world-renowned group has planned for their trip to Flagstaff. They will also hold a workshop and concert with students at Knoles Elementary School, and make a visit to the Grand Canyon!
The Australian Girls Choir was founded in 1984 as part of the Australian School of Performing Arts. Currently, 5,500 girls ages 10-17 take part in the group, which has performed for President Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela, the Dali Lama and Oprah Winfrey, as well as audiences at the Australian Open Tennis Final and the World Cup.
They have visited Flagstaff once before on their international tour. Their proud host, Flagstaff Youth Chorale, is a non-profit choral education and performance organization that provides music training and experience to school-age children.
