Woman Dies After Officer-Involved Shooting

A woman has died following an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday night.

According to Phoenix police, the incident took place around 7 p.m. near 43rd Avenue and Union Hills Drive. Officers responded to a call around 6:45 p.m. after reports of shots fired in the area.

 

Upon their arrival, a woman allegedly ran out with an AR-15 style rifle. When she fired shots, officers returned fire and hit the woman. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No officers were injured in the incident and the woman has not yet been identified.
