Windy Weekend for Flagstaff

Windy Weekend for Flagstaff

Flagstaff residents are enjoying a wintery weekend of weather.

The arrival of a cold front made for a windy, damp forecast.

The National Weather Service predicted winds would speed up on Saturday afternoon, with gusts as high as 44 mph overnight in Flagstaff. Other areas such as Doney Park could experience gusts of 55-60 mph.

Precipitation including rain and snow are expected on Saturday night, with 1 to 2 inches in Flagstaff and up to 5 inches near the Grand Canyon.

The snow and wind will start to clear Sunday afternoon, with a high of just 38 degrees forecasted. Monday should be slightly warmer and sunny with a high of 42, and the rest of the work week should be drier and warmer, with Friday’s high looking to be 57 degrees. That’s over 10 degrees above normal.
