Mark your calendars for the annual Flagstaff Film Festival, a celebration of cinema and community that draws thousands of attendees every year.
The fifteenth annual Flagstaff Film Festival is set to kick off on Thursday, February 16, continuing through the weekend before wrapping up on Sunday, February 19.
The entire family will enjoy this weekend of cinematic excellence at the Orpheum Theatre, with dozens of films from throughout the world on display.
It’s no secret that the host city of Flagstaff boasts a stunning natural landscape, nestled in the San Francisco Peaks and the Colorado Plateau, making it an ideal place to celebrate the diversity of documentary films.
The Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival first began as a small event in 2003, created by two friends who shared the same love and passion for outdoor-adventure and cultural documentary films, and wanted to share them with others. The inaugural two-day event half-filled the historic Orpheum Theater in downtown Flagstaff, but now, the event has been established as a tradition in Flagstaff, especially popular due to it’s Student Program, which brings educationally stimulating films to middle school and high school students in Flagstaff.
A collection of the most inspiring and thought-provoking social, environmental, outdoor, adventure and indigenous films are displayed, created by filmmakers from across the world.
The event consistently draws in outdoor and film enthusiasts from across the state and the Southwest, and attendees are able to enjoy a high-quality film experience in one of the most breathtaking spots Arizona has to offer.
