Vegetable Workshop Set For April 26

Vegetable Workshop Set For April 26

Calling all gardeners!

The Coconino County Cooperative Extension is hosting a cold-hardy veggie garden workshop on Thursday, April 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. Guest are invited to join in the fun as expert planters provide an introduction to growing plants like beets, peas and kale at home or in a community garden.

There are many cold-hardy vegetables that can thrive in Flagstaff and northern Arizona. These particular plants can survive light frosts and yield nutritious, delicious food in the springtime, as long as they receive proper preparation and care.

Thursday night’s event, held at the Bus Stop Garden, will kick-off the 2018 Seed to Table series. New for 2018 will be the chance to meet local farmers and sample their harvest. This is the perfect chance to dig in the dirt and enjoy a nice break after a long day at school or work.

Address: 2304 N 3rd St, Flagstaff, Arizona 86004
