VALLEYLIFE Member Appreciation Lunch

VALLEYLIFE Member Appreciation Lunch

On Tuesday, January 23rd North Phoenix Kiwanis hosted a VALLEYLIFE Member Appreciation Lunch in the Production Center on VALLEYLIFE’s main campus. Guests were treated to a pizza party with cookies for dessert. Each VALLEYLIFE Member that worked on the Kiwanis Dictionary Project was given an Outstanding Service Award to recognize their efforts.

VALLEYLIFE Members recently placed labels inside dictionaries that were part of the Kiwanis Annual Dictionary Project. These dictionaries are distributed to every 3rd grade student in the Washington Elementary School District. According to Ron Gawlitta, North Phoenix Kiwanis member, “Over time we handed out about 50,000 dictionaries, each inscribed with the name of the recipient student. It is a source of great pride for every one of our club members.”

Sunnyslope Kiwanis started the Dictionary Project in 1998, prior to their merge with North Phoenix Kiwanis, and has partnered with VALLEYLIFE for over 10 years. Every year, VALLEYLIFE Members look forward to preparing the dictionaries for distribution to Washington Elementary School District 3rd graders.
