Tucson Restaurants Come Together For Community Support

Tucson Restaurants Come Together For Community Support

It’s a day of remembrance and reflection on lives lost.

Monday, January 8th marks seven years since the shooting at a “Congress on your Corner” event at a Tucson Safeway supermarket. Six people were killed and another 13 were injured, including former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

It was a devastating day for Tucson, but the community rallied to support the victims and lost loved ones. They continue to do so to this day, and on Monday, several local restaurants are donating a percentage of sales towards Tucson’s January 8th Memorial.

As part of a fundraising event called “Dine On Your Corner,” all money collected will benefit the Tucson Memorial Foundation. This is the group leading the fundraising efforts for the January 8th Memorial, which will honor the victims and celebrate how the community came together to enact change.
