TUCSON, AZ - JUNE 03: Leon Gutierrez (R), of the Tucson Police Department's Gang Tactical Unit, assists patrol officers Luis Hernandez (L) and Jessica Stoneham who were responding to a fight June 3, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. The Tucson Police Department is currently gearing up to begin training its officers on the implementation of the state’s controversial new immigration law SB 1070. Among other things the new law makes it a state crime to be an "unauthorized alien" or to knowingly harbor, hire or transport an unauthorized alien. Tucson police have arrested a man suspected of car theft.

The suspect is believed to have stolen three vehicles and 30 sets of keys from a local Tucson auto dealership.

On Monday, the Arizona Department of Public Safety announced that detectives with the Tucson Vehicle Theft Task Force arrested a 20-year-old Tucson resident named Ernesto Garcia in connection with the crime.

With the help of technology, local police were able to locate one of the stolen vehicles, a 2008 BMW, at an apartment complex in the area, and detectives found the two other vehicles, a 2012 Ford F250 and a 2008 Dodge Ram.

The 30 sets of keys were recovered following Garcia’s arrest, which occurred after police monitoring the BMW saw Garcia move the vehicle.

Garcia was charged with three counts of burglary in the third degree for the stolen vehicles, three counts of theft of means of transportation, and one count of burglary in the third degree for theft of the dealership.
