Many people make resolutions for the New Year, and with the arrival of 2018, there are plenty of Tucsonans with goals for healthier lifestyles and self-improvement.
Adopting a more active lifestyle can provide a variety of benefits, from better fitness to greater quality of life. And Tucson residents who crave physical activity and exercise are in luck, at least according to WalletHub.
The personal finances website compared the 100 largest cities in the country to find which are the best and worst for promoting active lifestyles. They used 34 indicators of an active lifestyle, including the percentage of physically inactive adults and the average monthly fitness-club fees.
Once the study was complete, they determined that Tucson ranked 24th best on the list. With an active lifestyle score of 43.93, Tucson beat out all the other Arizona cities on the list, including Phoenix, Glendale, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Scottsdale. Tucson also ranked 5th for the most public golf courses per capita. For more information, check out the official WalletHub rankings here.
