Track Season is Coming! Registration for Preconditioning with SO SWIFT ATHLETICS is now open – Central Phoenix USATF AZ Club

REGISTRATION FOR PRESEASON CONDITIONING WITH SO SWIFT ATHLETICS IS NOW OPEN

 

So Swift Athletics, a USATF-affiliated Youth Track & Field Club has opened registration for their 2023 preseason conditioning program in North Central Phoenix. Starting November 6th, children aged 5-18 can train Mondays and Wednesdays in November-December from 6:00 p.m. – to 7:30 p.m. at Sunnyslope High School, located at 35 W Dunlap Ave. The cost is $75 per athlete.

 

The Central Phoenix Track and Field Club has been training and mentoring youth athletes since 2020. The club’s mission is to provide a fun and welcoming environment for athletes to have a positive and meaningful experience while learning the fundamentals of track & field. Many of their athletes have competed and placed nationally at the USATF National Championships in the past few years, including this summer’s Nationals in Eugene, OR at Hayward Field:

 

Aniyah Martin, age 14 – 400m Hurdles and Long Jump

Eric Shaff, age 12 – 100m, 200m and 400m

Julian Ferrari, age 14 – 100m, 200m, and Long Jump

Lauren Fields, age 8 – 200m and 400m

Jerimiah Fairbairn, age 8 –  400m

Hans Kugler , age 13 – Triple Jump

Sarah Marquez, age 9 – High Jump

 

“We are a competitive USA Track and Field affiliated club team, said Founder and Coach, Tawnie Martin of So Swift Athletics. This preseason conditioning opportunity is open to ages 5-18 and we welcome ALL skill levels, no experience is needed! During preseason in the months of November and December we focus on technique, strength, and agility to prepare your athlete for their upcoming 2024 season. We look forward to seeing all the new and returning athletes!”

 

Coach Tawnie Martin, the founder of So Swift Athletics and a native of Phoenix is a youth track and field coach dedicated to making a positive impact on today’s youth on and off the track. She is a passionate, dedicated, and goal-oriented coach with a proven track record of successfully mentoring and motivating student-athletes to achieve and exceed their goals. She excels in developing and implementing high-level student-athlete environments for teaching, learning, and training proper fundamentals and techniques. Coach Martin has been actively serving in the USA Track & Field Arizona Association for more than 10 years and is the Youth Chair for USATF-AZ. She is a Level 1 USATF coach, specializing in mid/long-distance and block starts. Coach Martin was previously the sprint coach at Centennial High School from 2018-2019 and has been the Sprint coach at Sunnyslope High School for the past 3 years and has taken the program to new levels.
