The Town of Sahuarita has earned two Golden Prospector Awards from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED), recognizing excellence, innovation and creativity in economic development.
Sahuarita won for its “Beautifully Connected” metro area marketing brochure and for the Metro Deal of the Year, “SAMTEC.”
The brochure was developed to brand the town beyond its singular ‘bedroom community’ identity. Sahuarita’s assets in its young population, educated workforce, quality of life and access to major transportation (and trade) corridors were communicated through visualizations, story-telling, and demographic illustrations.
SAMTEC is a 32,000 square foot, multi-tenant advanced manufacturing center that will provide the necessary infrastructure for the immediate retention and expansion of Hydronalix, a maritime robotics company, and Control Vision, an optical sensor and control systems company; both currently situated in Sahuarita.
Overall, 10 Golden Prospector Awards and seven awards of merit were presented at AAED’s fall forum in Prescott.
AAED, founded in 1974, has a mission to serve as Arizona’s unified voice advocating for responsible economic development through an effective program of professional education, public policy, and collaboration.
