Founded in 1996, Tempe Preparatory Academy (TPA) was awarded one of the first mandates to operate as an open-enrollment charter school in the State of Arizona. As a non-profit, tuition-free charter school dedicated to providing a world class liberal arts education, TPA has been graduating the best qualified prep school students in the state for almost 25 years, consistently surpassing district schools, charter schools and top-performing private schools across the United States in academic outcomes, moral formation, and comprehensive extra-curricular offerings.
Tempe Preparatory Academy is dedicated to its mission of enriching the minds and lives of its
students academically and socially as well as providing a caring environment with opportunities for personal development, social responsibility, co-curricular engagement, and community service on and off campus. To fulfill this mission, in July of 2020 Tempe Prep began a $7,205,000.00 in campus renovation that includes the following:
- Constructing a new 20,000 sq. ft. Fine Arts and Sciences building
- Repurposing the existing auditorium to a Faculty Building and Study Hall
- Repurposing the existing Administration building to an expanded Student Center
- Enclosing the campus with modern fencing and gates
- Renovating the main restrooms to include commercial grade facilities that meet current ADA requirements
By embarking on this campus renewal, we are holding ourselves to the same high standards that we expect of our students. We are fulfilling our promise to provide the facilities and resources necessary to foster every student’s academic curiosity and support their pursuit of excellence. The promise that their time spent at Tempe Preparatory Academy will put them on a trajectory for success.
