Tempe Community Action Agency Celebrates Annual I-HELP Fun Run


WHO:             Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA)


WHAT:          Tempe Community Action Agency is celebrating its long-standing I-HELP 5K/1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 5, 2018. The event brings the community together in support of the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP), which is Tempe’s only homeless shelter program.  


                     The family-friendly, multi-generational event will feature two courses including a 5K option and a one-mile lake loop. Attendees can enjoy games, live entertainment, Sweet Thangs Bakery, Café Food Truck, Jamba Juice, raffles, a gift card wall and more – all while raising money and awareness for a vital service in our community.

WHY:             I-HELP is Tempe’s only homeless shelter program which operates seven nights a week, 365 days a year in partnership with 11 Tempe faith-based organizations. The 2018 I-HELP 5K/1 Mile Fun Run helps make a difference to more than 600 homeless men and women who annually seek safety, shelter and support in their journey to regain independence and long-term self-sufficiency. I-HELP empowers men and women to overcome their challenges, both short and long-term, in order to successfully secure employment, safe permanent housing, and independence.
