Taylor Morrison to Host Celebrity Golf Tournament for Charity, Featuring Former NFL and Collegiate All-American Athletes

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Taylor Morrison Home Corporation (“Taylor Morrison,” NYSE: TMHC), a leading national homebuilder and developer, is kicking off the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship game with a major celebrity golf tournament aimed at raising money to support education in the State of Arizona.

In partnership with the Arizona Organizing Committee (AOC), Taylor Morrison’s 2016 Arizona College Football Championship Golf Classic is scheduled for Jan. 8 and will take place at the newly renovated Grand Canyon University Golf Course.

A portion of the proceeds from the event and silent auction will be donated to various Arizona charities supporting education, includingTaylor Morrison’s charity of choice, YouthBuild, an organization that provides education, counseling and job skills to young adults in need in Arizona. Auction items will include one-of-a-kind experiences like an African safari for two and Phoenix Open Sky Box seats.

“Kicking off the College Football Playoff National Championship game weekend with the Golf Tournament is an amazing opportunity, and we’re proud to host such a significant event to raise money to support education and Arizona’s youth. The tournament will also play host to a bevy of celebrities, including the former Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks owner Jerry Colangelo, who is the honorary chair of the tournament.

Additionally, the tournament will feature former NFL and collegiate All-Americans, including former Arizona State University quarterbackJake Plummer, former University of Arizona linebacker Ricky Hunley, former Heisman Trophy winner John Huarte of Notre Dame, andLincoln Kennedy of the University of Washington, who was recently inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Also playing will be former ASU All American Michael Haynes, who has been inducted into both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame.

These and other celebrities will be paired with foursomes that are sponsored by national and local businesses.

The tournament will also feature a celebrity dinner on Jan. 7, golf awards following the tournament, and a cocktail reception.
