KJZZ’s SPOT127 Teen Summer Boot Camp Teaches Digital Storytelling Skills  

SPOT 127’s summer boot camps offer high school students in the metro Phoenix area intensive, hands-on training in multimedia production. During the immersive camps, SPOT 127 staff, KJZZ 91.5 FM journalists and media professionals mentor students while they produce audio and video pieces.

Participants spend two weeks learning to report, write, shoot and edit audio and video stories with the latest equipment. Students to get hands-on production experience to develop multimedia pieces that can be used in portfolios, scholarship and college applications.

July sessions at SPOT 127 offer a variety of experiences in digital media with students writing stories on a specific topic, expanding upon existing skills and creating exciting projects.

The cost of each program is $250, which includes lunch. Some scholarships are available for students based on financial need. Applications at spot127.org

East Valley Boot Camp:                                                                
June 4 – June 15
Daily classes (Monday through Friday)
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

West Valley Boot Camp:
June 18 – June 29
Daily classes (Monday through Friday)
9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

East Valley July Session:
July 9 – July 26
Monday through Thursday (no Friday)
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

West Valley July Session:
July 9 – July 26
Monday through Thursday (no Friday)
9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
