Six Mint Cannabis Dispensaries in AZ Host Rasta-Themed Celebrations 4/19 and 4/20

There’s not much that goes together better with cannabis than great food and the hypnotic rhythm of rasta tunes. So, to celebrate National Cannabis Day, which happens to fall on a Saturday this year, Mint Cannabis is setting out to prove there’s only one dispensary to love with a two-day celebration. On Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, the operator’s six dispensaries in Arizona will host rasta-themed celebrations chock-full of food, fun, prizes, giveaways, and plenty of great music, of course, for customers 21 and older.

Throughout the two-day celebration on 4/19 and 4/20, customers will be treated to a curated list of rasta tunes from a local DJ along with bold Jamaican cuisine to go with it. This will include free, uninfused Jamaican Jerk Chicken Tacos in the store parking lots on 4/19 to paletas and infused Jamaican-inspired desserts available for purchase from the Mint’s cannabis kitchen in Tempe on both days.

There will be plenty of deals to score at the Mint’s six dispensaries in Arizona during the celebratory weekend, with more than $100k in giveaways and prizes. The Mint plans to conduct free product and medicated raffles all day long on both days. Swag bags will be distributed at 8 am, 4:20 pm, and 7:10 pm  on 4/19 and 4/20. Customers who dress up like Bob Marley on either one of these days will receive a free pre-roll (one per customer during the two-day celebration). Customers who make a purchase of $25 or more on 4/19 or 4/20 will receive a free medicated item from the Mint. Additionally, customers can enter themselves into a random drawing for a chance to win a Jamaican cruise getaway for two this September (no purchase necessary, one entry per customer) at the entrance to each dispensary. The winner of the getaway will be drawn on Facebook Live at 4:20 pm on Monday, April 22.

Each dispensary will be decked out in rasta colors, and Mint team members will also get in on the fun by donning T-shirts that say, “My One Love: Cannabis.” More fun awaits in the form of a social-media-inspired hashtag, #onelovemint, for guests to capture and share their fun memories during the two-day celebration.

Last but certainly not least, the Mint’s leadership team will present a check to Scottsdale Community College this month to formally announce a Higher Education Cannabis Scholarship for four students pursuing a career in the cannabis industry. The Mint is financing scholarships valued at $420 each for four SCC students.

The rasta-inspired 420 celebrations will take place at all six Mint dispensaries in Arizona:

• 5210 S. Priest Drive, Tempe, AZ 85283 (Mint Café is based here; headquarters of Mint Cannabis)

• 330 E. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ 85210

• 17036 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032 (Cave Creek and Bell Roads)

• 2444 W Northern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021 (I-17 and Northern)

• 1211 N. 75th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85043 (near State Farm Stadium)

• 8729 E. Manzanita Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85258 (near Talking Stick)

“National Cannabis Day, or rather National Cannabis Weekend, is a terrific opportunity to celebrate the progress we’re seeing in the industry as cannabis becomes even more of a part of mainstream culture,” said Eivan Shahara, CEO of Mint Cannabis. “Our two-day 420 celebration is a salute to the industry and its commitment to future generations, as well as a celebration of our loyal patients and customers who have helped us to become one of the state’s leading cannabis retailers.”

Mint Cannabis continues to expand its presence across the country with state-of-the-art facilities. With a reputation for providing a wide variety of high-quality products and personalized service, the Mint offers the most diverse selection of flower/buds, edibles, and concentrates. The Mint’s flagship location in Tempe, Ariz. – which introduced the nation’s first cannabis kitchen of its kind in 2018; added a large on-site grow in 2019; and implemented an on-site drive-thru in 2020 – was named “Most Innovative” by the international Commercial Cannabis Awards. With more than 550 team members, the Mint has plans to open additional dispensary locations in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey in 2024. For more information, visit
