A Tucson non-profit organization is in need of some help from the community.
The Kino School is continuing their mission to provide an environment where students have the freedom and responsibility to thrive and succeed. As a private school for students K-12, Kino goes above and beyond to serve as a safe place for everyone to learn and grow together.
For community members who want to help this school continue their educational endeavors, they could use several donations. The Kino School staff is in need of three large, white dry-erase boards: two 3 feet x 4 feet and one 4 feet x 5 feet (not electronic). They would also greatly appreciate two tablets, such as iPad or Kindle.
According to their official website, During the past four decades, Kino School has evolved into what it is today. Regardless of the changing educational winds that have blown across Arizona – from Back to Basics to Common Core to Authentic Assessment to AIMS testing — Kino School has remained steadfast in its commitment to small classes, individualized educational programming and the basic values of progressive education.
For 40 years, Kino has remained rooted in a strong philosophy which recognizes that when students are given both the responsibility and the freedom that lie at the heart of being citizens in a democratic society, respect for others and the community thrives and students of all abilities can succeed.
