With so many galas, walks, breakfasts and golf tournaments already happening for nonprofits throughout our community, Southwest Human Development is interested in finding something fresh and new that would allow us to engage with the millennial generation in a way that is fun and unique.
Let’s have a Scavenger Hunt!
The Scavenger Hunt benefiting Southwest Human Development is a free event that allows teams of four people to participate in some zany, some serious, some kind and some fun activities supporting a good cause—young children in our community with disabilities.
Using an app, we’ve designed over 40 activities and assigned point values to them. Activities include building a cairn, show a picture of your celebrity look-a-like, carpool karaoke to your favorite Queen song, read a book by Temple Grandin, put a book in a Little Free Library and dress up in full ski gear and go to have dinner or a drink at a bar.
The results are hilarious and it’s a lot of fun. There is also a Facebook Fundraiser to help generate revenue for the Scavenger Hunt—the award is 1 point per dollar raised and this funding benefits programs and services for Valley kids.
From February 5-14, complete missions across the Valley to win prizes, including gift cards, Phoenix Suns and Arizona Coyotes tickets and more with our radio partners, Mathew and Priscilla of MIX 96.9 with iHeartRadio in Phoenix.
Don’t forget to share your experiences on social media tagging Mix 96.9 and Southwest Human Development on Facebook, @mix969fm and @swhdaz on Instagram, and @mix969 and @swhdaz on Twitter!
