In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, the Salvation Army is dedicating one day only for registering 1,500 families for Christmas assistance.
Pre-registration is set for Saturday, November 4 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Tucson Hospitality House, located at 1002 N. Main Ave.
In a recent release, Jamie Snyder, Director of Social Services, said “The toy assistance program is crucial for families who cannot provide Christmas gifts for their children. All the toys provided are supported from the people of Tucson and their donations.”
The line will start at 6 a.m., and those interested in registering should note that they are discouraged from lining up before that time.
This program makes a huge difference in the community as it allows children from lower income families to receive toys on Christmas. Each registered family will receive a ticket with instructions on the next step and what to bring to their appointment at the Hospitality House Tickets are limited to one per family household with children ages 12 and under.
For more information about The Toy Distribution program, please call (520) 792-1629 or visit the official website here.
Donations are greatly appreciated, and those who wish to donate new and unwrapped toys are kindly asked to drop them off at the Hospitality House or call (520) 795-9671.
