As the weather cools down, things are heating up at Tempe Marketplace.Wednesday, Oct. 6 is the first of their FREE four-part ROCK IT UP concert series and will showcase the national rock act, Mod Sun with local opener, Color 8
Shop around, dine at one of the many restaurants within the center then at 7 p.m., head to the District Stage to grab a drink at Dave & Buster’s outdoor bar and jam out to some rock music.
Standing for “Movement on Dreams Stand Under None,”Mod Sun,otherwise known as Derek Ryan Smith, began his music career at an early age. Mod Sun has released five mixtapes and three EPs throughout his solo career. Mod Sun’s style has been described as hippy hop adding an electric spin to hip-hop. Albums “LookUp,” “Movie” and “BB” have all made their debut on Billboard Top Heatseeker’s chart. His most recent album, “Internet Killed theRockstar” was released earlier this year just in time to take the stage at Tempe Marketplace.
Capacity is limited and will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.
Tempe Marketplace is committed to meeting and exceeding the hygiene standards established by the CDC and World Health Organization. Increased cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting occurs through the day, and throughout common areas of the property with a particular focus on highly trafficked locations. Hand sanitization stations are located throughout the center, masks are recommended for guests regardless of vaccination status and all staff are required to wear masks for the duration of the event.
