Reduce Your Air Conditioner Repair Risks During Above Average Temps

(PHOENIX)– We’re approaching the hottest temperatures so far this year and we could even hit our first 100-degree day year this week. Family-owned Donley AC & Plumbing is sharing the most common issues homeowners face as they turn on cooling systems for a new season.

Short Cycling

• This is when your AC shuts down and restarts too often.

• A professional can determine whether it’s a bad capacitor, compressor, thermostat, electrical problem or other issue.

Uneven Cooling

• If you notice ‘hot spots’ in different parts of your house you could have damaged ductwork, a mechanical problem, or even an incorrect size air conditioning unit.

Loud Unit

• All ACs make noise but you shouldn’t hear screeching, clanging or grinding gears.

Check Insulation and Airflow

• Make sure the airflow from your AC unit through your ducts is free of obstruction.
