Queen Creek High School students past and present achieve FFA success

Queen Creek High School FFA member Bailey Roden recently won the Arizona FFA State Prepared Public Speaking Career Development Event. The event was held at The University of Arizona in Tucson from June 1-3, 2017.

The FFA Prepared Public Speaking Career Development Event is designed to develop agricultural leadership. Participants are required to write and deliver a speech on an agricultural-related topic. The participants are judged on content and composition of the manuscript, voice and stage presence, power of expression, general effect and response to questions asked by a panel of judges.

Roden will compete for national honors this fall at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Roden is a member of the 2017 State Champion Agricultural Sales team that will also be representing Queen Creek FFA and Arizona FFA at the national competition.

Queen Creek High School graduate of 2015 and former Queen Creek FFA member, Bryce Cluff recently was selected as the National FFA Officer candidate for the state of Arizona. Cluff was selected at the Arizona Association FFA State Leadership Conference also held at the University of Arizona earlier this month.

Cluff, along with 50 others from across the United States, will compete for a seat on the National FFA Officer team this fall at the National FFA Convention. Cluff is the past state FFA Vice President from 2015-16 and was a member of Queen Creek FFA from 2011-2015. Cluff was also a member of the State Champion Agronomy team from Queen Creek FFA during his high school career.  

Cluff is currently a junior at The University of Arizona. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Agricultural Technology Management & Education. His career goal is to become a high school agricultural education instructor & FFA Advisor.
