Lovers of Mexican food should get excited – an eatery frequented by celebs is joining the vibrant Scottsdale dining scene.
The Madera Group recently announced their big jump to the Arizona market with Toca Madera.
“Scottsdale is a market we’ve always wanted to be in,” said Tosh Berman, CEO and co-founder of The Madera Group, in a written statement. “We look forward to introducing Toca Madera to the community and showcasing what will be the ultimate in luxury dining.”
Toca Madera is “a modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine, featuring unique shared plates and specialty craft cocktails,” according to its website.
The new Scottsdale location will be different from the L.A. eatery with 8000 square foot and an open, airy kitchen. It will also boast a ceviche bar that will function like a sushi bar. Guests will also have access to a separate bar area and lounge, which will have the signature music and fire elements that make the LA location so popular.
The menu at Taco Madera is split into six sections, including ensaladas (salads), platos pequenos (“small plates”), platos grandes (“large plates”), raw bar, sides and desserts, according to a menu published on its website.
For those craving something small, delicious plates such as empanadas, tamales, tostadas and Queso Fundito will be up for grabs. Also on the menu are at least ten different kinds of tacos, along with enchilada de Mole, enchilada de suiza, and carne asada.
Guests with a sweet tooth can try their famous $14 dessert: a Churro ice cream sandwich, made with dulce de leche ice cream and sprinkled with spiced Mexican chocolate shavings.
Prices range from $10 – $18 for small plates, $20 – $45 for large plates, and $11 – $15 for taco dishes.
Although the restaurant is not expected to open until next spring, it will eventually be part of the new “luxury wing” at Scottsdale Fashion Square mall.
