Police Sergeant Seriously Injured In Shooting

One person is dead and a police sergeant critically injured following a shooting on Friday morning in Glendale.

A Glendale police sergeant was shot in the chest during an incident in the parking lot of an O’Reilly Auto Parts store near 43rd and Olive Avenues.

According to the Glendale Police Department, the suspect in the shooting is dead, and the officer remains in serious condition but is expected to recover.

Phoenix police were called to the scene and were searching for the suspect in a nearby neighborhood, located around 43rd Avenue and Hatcher Road.  Glendale Police have confirmed the individual was shot and killed by police. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
