Police Respond to Animal Attack in Sahuarita

A scary incident involving an animal attack took place south of Tucson last week.

The Sahuarita Police Department were called to a home in the 14000 block of Camino El Foso around 9:40 am. on Monday, March 5.

According to a news release from SPD, before officers and animal control arrived, a report came in, stating that two big Siberian Huskies had leapt into several backyards, attacking and ultimately killing two smaller canines. A third dog was injured in the incident.

SPD officers assisted the animal control officer with locating the dogs and taking them to the Humane Society. The animals’ owner, Demetrius Kavathas, received a citation for two counts each of prohibited acts for dogs at large, the bites, vaccinations required and license required.
