Police Investigate Attempted Carjacking

The University of Arizona campus was on alert Friday afternoon following reports of an attempted carjacking in the area.

The incident happened in the area of East 6th Street and North Cherry Avenue. An alert was sent out campus wide at 1:19 pm on Friday, informing students and staff of an investigation into the attempted carjacking.

According to the alert, the suspect was described as a Hispanic male around 30 years old. He was last seen running away from the area to the south.

University of Arizona Police Department are working alongside the Tucson Police Department to further investigate. The U of A community is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to police immediately.
