A community is mourning following confirmation that remains discovered in Yavapai County belong to a missing schoolteacher.
On Friday, the Flagstaff Police Department confirmed that the human remains found a week ago belong to beloved Glendale teacher Cathryn Gorospe.
According to Sgt. Cory Runge, the Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the remains using Gorospe’s dental records.
While they had to wait for confirmation from the medical examiner, investigators believed the body found near Mayer, Arizona belonged to the kindergarten teacher who had been missing since Friday, October 6. She disappeared after driving to Flagstaff to bail out a criminal named Charlie Malzahn, who police believe she had a romantic history with.
