Paving the path for continued growth in 2021, Phoenix-based Chamberlin and Associates Real Estate Management announced the addition of 800 units to its multi-state portfolio through the acquisition of seven properties in Arizona in April. Chamberlin and Associates is creating a national multifamily footprint with over 30,000 units managed across 4 states.
The seven property additions are: The Vibe on Thomas, Haven on Peoria, Winterhaven Terrace, Apex on Central, The Porter and two hotels to apartment renovations of The Molino 2 Hotel and The Quality Inn at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The Vibe on Thomas is a 100-unit community with studio and one-bedroom apartment homes in Central Phoenix. Haven on Peoria offers 164 units in a pet friendly community with one or two-bedroom options in Glendale, Ariz.. Winterhaven Terrace is in Tucson, Ariz. and features 96 units with spacious one and two-bedroom floor plans. Apex on Central is in Central Phoenix and has 117 units with three options of upgraded apartment homes. The Porter is a renovated apartment community with 165 units located in the heart of Tempe, Ariz.
Chamberlin and Associates also specializes in the revitalization of real estate projects that includes the transformation of hotels into apartment communities. The Molino 2 Hotel and The Quality Inn at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport are the latest additions to the development portfolio. The Molino 2 features 113 units that will become one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes with state-of-the-art appliances and spacious living spaces. The Quality Inn will become The Quin with the 96 units of one or two-bedroom floor plans that feature modern designs and upgraded amenities. The company chooses hotels to fill the need for multifamily housing in densely populated areas.

To accommodate the successful growth of the company, leadership team members Flor Aparicio and Cindy Owen have been named the new vice president and vice president of portfolio operations. Aparicio brings nearly two decades of experience in professional multifamily management and development to her role as a vice president. In this role, Aparicio is dedicated to supporting corporate employees in operations, and property owners to maximize returns and execute the underwritten business plan. The department’s responsibilities include regular monitoring of operating performance, training, coaching and ongoing support to regional managers, company recruiter, company trainer, and maintenance supervisors.
Owens brings more than two decades of experience in property management to her role as vice president of portfolio operations. Her prior work includes more than 20 years working at the regional level of leading management companies in Arizona and Texas. She has successfully managed portfolios of more than 40 properties in an oversight role and brings a comprehensive skill set to her work including experience with new development lease up properties and value-add renovations. She also has expertise in repositioning and rebranding properties including conventional and tax credit communities.
