Pet Store Hosts Seder for Dogs

Evanger’s will host a Passover seder for pets and their owners at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Choice Pet Market, 7119 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale.

The third annual event, led by Nurit Avigdor, will include a pet-friendly Passover seder ceremony, a “Passover meal” for the animals and live music. Participants will receive a free can of kosher-for-Passover Evanger’s dog food. The event is for pets, children, families and pet lovers of all ages and faiths.

Avigdor, the mother of the store’s co-owner Andy Avigdor, is a songleader at several local schools and a piano teacher. During the Passover seder ceremony, she tells the story of Passover and sings several Passover songs.

Evanger’s canned foods are endorsed kosher for Passover for pets by the Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC). This means that it contains no chametz (leavened food), which is prohibited on the holiday of Passover.

Choice Pet Market has several locations in the Valley. Visit for other locations.
