O’Rielly Chevrolet to Host Car Seat Safety Event

Pima County parents and caregivers are encouraged to take advantage of an upcoming child car seat safety session.

On Saturday, September 23rd, there will be a free car seat check held at O’Rielly Chevrolet (6160 E. Broadway Boulevard). From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., community members are encouraged to stop by and learn about proper car seat installation and usage with the help of trained deputies, officers and local partners. Presented by Safe Kids Pima County, Pima County Sheriff’s Department, and the Tucson Police Department, this event was made possible through funding grants provided by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

This event is part of an ongoing effort to educate the public on proper car seat installation and usage so that heartbreaking accidents and tragedies can be prevented. According to the official press release, motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of unintentional deaths for children ages 1-19 years old. The first step to preventing this is making sure car seats are properly installed so they can do their job in keeping children safe.
