Noah Webster Schools Understands the Importance of Music and Physical Education to Arizona Youth

Noah Webster Schools is providing their families access to Music and PE lessons through the Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music website.  Each week, their Music and PE teachers are uploading fun and interactive lessons to keep children singing, jumping, moving and grooving!

When Governor Doug Ducey made the first announcement on March 15th that schools would be closed for two weeks, the Specialists team at Noah Webster Schools formulated a plan to ensure their students could stay actively involved with the Music and PE programs they have worked so hard to build.  The music teachers have worked with Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music for several years, so their first thought was to reach out to see if PE lessons could be incorporated into the online platform.  Quaver’s was immediately onboard and by the middle of the following week, links to access the online Music and PE lessons were emailed out to families and printed activities were provided to those families without online access.

The recent efforts of the Noah Webster Schools Specialists team are evidence of their dedication to these programs in schools.  Music has been proven as a fundamental part of a student’s education.  Jennifer Griffith, the music teacher at the Scottsdale campus, understands the importance of music to a child’s development.  “As a music educator for Noah Webster Schools for 23 years, I have seen firsthand the commitment our school has to educating the whole child,” states Griffith.  “Our schools know that students learn a lot more than just music in Music class; they develop emotionally and intellectually, learn discipline, connect with others, and find new ways to express themselves.  They also benefit from enhanced language development and verbal skills, as well as health benefits such as stress reduction and better sleep.”

With cuts to school funding over the past several years, many schools have chosen to eliminate not only Music classes, but Physical Education classes as well.  “Noah Webster Schools knows that Physical Education undoubtedly deserves a spot in a child’s education,” notes Austin Reed, the PE coach at the Mesa campus.  “Physical Education classes improve vital habits that can lead to an overall healthy lifestyle. Besides the health benefits, physical education helps improve self-esteem and confidence by allowing children to complete a task that requires a special set of skills found in sports and physical activity.”

Noah Webster Schools, once again, shows their commitment and dedication to Arizona’s youth by providing programs, such as Music and PE, that make for a well-rounded child.   For more information about their schools, please visit their website at or email
