New Drinks at Hearth ’61 Including The Perfect Cocktail to Celebrate the Grand Canyon Centennial

In celebration of the Grand Canyon National Park centennial on February 26, Hearth ’61 at Mountain Shadows is serving up a special cocktail all year long. Joseph Christmas Ives, a U.S. soldier, botanist and explorer, was the first American to set out into the Grand Canyon, the last unexplored area of the West. The Bold Botanist, named after Ives, features bold notes of juniper, a plant that is found in abundance at the canyon. Tanqueray is shaken with fresh lime juice, simple syrup, egg white and mint, then topped with angostura bitters. The drink is $15, and $1 of each one sold will be donated to the Grand Canyon Association.

In addition to this crafty creation, the bar has just unveiled a new menu of signature cocktails. Shadow’s Kiss is a new favorite, made with Wheatley small-batch vodka, St-Germain, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and mint. Also new on deck is The Big Easy, featuring the resort’s new custom 3 Man Blend bourbon, Courvoisier and St-Germain; along with three other new drinks, and the return by popular demand of Paradise Lost, featuring tequila, fresh lime juice, mango puree and Sriracha.
