The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise announced today it has made an annual contribution to Apache, Navajo and Coconino county totaling $114,046 for calendar year 2018. The Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact requires Navajo Gaming to select nearby Arizona municipalities to receive 12 percent of its annual revenue-sharing contribution to the state. Navajo Gaming elected to divide the total amount equally among the three counties.
“We thank the Navajo Gaming Enterprise through Twin Arrows Casino for its partnership and its contribution to our local economies,” said Coconino County Chair of the Board of Supervisors Art Babbott.
“Coconino County has many communities that benefit from the Twin Arrows Casino,” Babbott said. “Not only do we appreciate this contribution, but also its corporation using its facility as an emergency shelter during disasters. We look forward to continuing to work with the Navajo Gaming Enterprise and Twin Arrows Casino in the future.”
The funds are for government services that benefit the general public, including public safety, promotion of commerce and economic development.
“We’re pleased to make this contribution to these local area counties as part of our gaming partnership with the state of Arizona,” said NNGE Interim CEO Brian Parrish. “Since the opening of Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort, the gaming enterprise has contributed a total of $484,740 to local area counties.”
From 2008 through 2018, Navajo Gaming has provided revenue-sharing payments to the states of Arizona and New Mexico totaling more than $65.2 million.
